SUMMARY:PILON Webinar - Cyberbullying: Cybercrime and Children in a Covid-19 World
DESCRIPTION:The first PILON webinar for the year\, this webinar will be the first of a two part webinar series on Cybercrime and Children in a Covid-19 World. \nCovid-19 has changed the world as we know it. While we have been forced to physically distance\, we have become more connected through the internet\, adapting to remote work\, learning and video calls. Cybercriminals have adapted to our increased online engagement\, rendering children more vulnerable than ever in this new criminal landscape. As the first of our two-part webinar on Cybercrime and Children in a Covid-19 world\, our webinar on Cyberbullying will discuss the challenges of keeping our children safe when engaging with digital technology\, as well as opportunities for adapting our laws and policies to prevent harmful practices. \nPanellists for the webinar will be: \n\nMs Anne Dunn-Baleilevuka\, Commissioner of the Fiji Online Safety Commission\nMs Kelly Tallon\, Manager of Online Harm Policy at the Australian eSafety Commission\nMs Ella Serry\, Assistant Manager\, International Strategy and Futures at the Australian eSafety Commission\nProfessor Amanda Third (PhD)\, Professorial Research Fellow in the Institute for Culture and Society at Western Sydney University\, who has undertaken a broad range of research in the region to understand the various opportunities and challenges associated with children’s digital technology practices\n\nThe webinar will be chaired by Chair of the Cybercrime Working Group\, Attorney General of the Kingdom of Tonga\, Ms Linda S Folaumoetu’i \, and live scribed by graphic artist\, Jessamy Gee. \nA poster of the webinar will be available on the PILON website following the event. \nParticipants are encouraged to ask any questions they may have on the day through the Zoom chat function or by unmuting to ask their question. \nWe look forward to your attendance at the webinar and encourage you to share details of the event with your colleagues. \n  \nPlease click here to register for this webinar. \n  \n
