PILON has conducted a number of desktop reviews of Pacific legislation, at the request of the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police (PICP), to identify potential law reform projects that would assist in combatting transnational crime. Review of legislation and practice in the implementation of special measures for vulnerable witnesses in the Pacific

In collaboration with the Australian Attorney-General’s Department, the PILON Sexual and Gender Based Violence Working Group conducted a review of the extent to which legislation and the court’s use of inherent jurisdiction gives access to special measures for vulnerable witnesses in sexual violence cases throughout the Pacific in 2019.
